Admission

Admission :

1. Submission of application:

Candidates who fulfill the required qualifications and specification should submit their applications for admission only in the prescribed form enclosed with the prospectus. Application complete in all respects should reach the address on or before the last date of submission as mentioned in the admission advertisement. The Admission Advertisement normally appeared in all leading newspapers published from Guwahati in the last week of April in every year.

2. Written Examination and viva-voce:

A written examination for all eligible candidates is to be held at the venue mentioned in the information sheet provided with prospectus.

3. Written Examination The objective type is common for all candidates. General knowledge will have the questions on arts, culture, society and people, with special focus on North Eastern states. Questions on general science of 10th standards also included the question paper.

4. Viva-voce will be held at Regional Government Film and Television Institute as per the date mentioned in the information sheet provided with the prospectus. Original copies of mark sheets and certificates must be shown at the viva-voce and admission. The final selection will be based on the candidate performance both on the written test and viva-voce.

5. Medical Examination:

Candidates selected for admission will be required to produce a certificate of physical fitness from a medical Officer before they are admitted to the Institute.
The medical standards prescribed for admission are:
i) Eye sight in the range of +2.5 and -2.5
ii) Ability to hear whisper at a distance of 30 cm
The standard regarding eye sight is relaxable in exceptional cases, if the medical officer certifies that the candidates do not suffer from diseases and provided the vision is corrected to normal with glasses.

6. Academic session:

The academic process for an academic session of the Institute normally commences in the month of April/May.

7. Age limit:

24 years on 1st July of the respective year.

8. Class hours:

Teaching hours are normally 10.00 - 17.00 hrs with a lunch-break, though this can vary according to the demand of the curriculum. During productions, early calls, evening and night works are likely to be required.

9. Medium of instruction:

The medium of instruction is English.

10. Attendance in class:

Students failing to attend a minimum of 80% of attendance n any subject shall not be allowed to appear in the examination
